Boo at the Zoo

Rowan went to the Columbus Zoo for their annual Halloween event- Boo at the Zoo. He participated in a magic show there. Laughs ensued.

Look, bison!

I wanna zip my vest.

Smiling for the camera.

Looking pretty cute, if you ask this mommy.
Petting sheep in the barn.

I love this sheep.

Making a souvenir.

Petting the goats. And brushing them.

Playing on the moose sculpture.
So Rowan attended a magic show. As soon as the magician asked for a volunteer for the audience and a little girl got to assist, he was begging me to go up there. When he asked for volunteers later, Rowan jumped off my lap and RAN up there. He was chosen because he didn't wait to be asked. He was the youngest kid up there, and we worried if he would follow instructions enough and not be disruptive...

Everyone takes a scarf from the hat. Rowan gets his fave color- purple!

Showing the audience his scarf.

Then he had to put his scarf back in the hat and say "the magic word" over the hat.

All other kids picked "Abra Cadabra". What did our son pick as the magic word?
Drumroll..... "PLEASE". Laughter ensues.
Then all the kids are given magic wands to wave over the hat.

Rowan's is hollow.

And it is a microphone.

Rowan suddenly takes an interest in what is hidden, offstage. He announces VERY LOUDLY, "Hey! There's a ball back there." Needless to say, the trick involving a surprise ball is not forthcoming.

Rowan waits his turn for the transformation.

He is skipped over because he doesn't want the red scarf that was next-
he wants a yellow one like the girl before him.

He accepts a green one. He likes green and surprise! It is a monkey. He likes monkeys.

He is sad but cooperative when he has to give it back.
Rowan's career as an entertainer has begun.
